The Manna Center Receives Grant to Fund Refrigerated Truck

The Methodist Foundation for Arkansas recently joined with other partners in purchasing a refrigerated truck for The Manna Center.

A Message from Wayne: Mabelline, the Babysitter

In the last issue of Legacies, I wrote about Miss Mabelline. I mentioned she would babysit our children occasionally. The first time she did this, Rynnett and I returned home and walked in the house through the kitchen, which flowed into the living room.

High Speed Internet Comes to Mount Eagle

The Foundation recently awarded a $5,000 grant to upgrade and expand internet services at Mount Eagle Retreat Center in Clinton, AR. The retreat center will be matching the grant to cover the full cost of installation.

Nancy Wood Scholarship Winner - Marleigh Hayes

Marleigh Hayes from Fayetteville has been named the 2021 Nancy M. Wood Scholarship winner and will enroll this fall at Hendrix College with the $6,000 scholarship grant. She feels called to study toward her goal of attending seminary.

Deacon Seminary Scholar - Cindy Miller

Cindy has been selected as a Methodist Foundation Deacon Seminary Scholar for the 2021-2022 school year. As with the elder scholars, students demonstrating exceptional promise attending one of the 13 accredited United Methodist seminaries may be selected by The Foundation to receive annual scholarships. Scholarship recipients are required to sign a covenant agreement committing to serve as a deacon under appointment in Arkansas for two years for each year of scholarship support received.

Elder Seminary Scholar - Sadie Stratton

Sadie Stratton has been selected as a Methodist Foundation Elder Seminary Scholar for the 2021-2022 school year. Students demonstrating exceptional promise attending one of the 13 accredited United Methodist seminaries may be selected by The Methodist Foundation for Arkansas to receive annual scholarships. Scholarship recipients are required to sign a covenant agreement committing to serve as an elder under appointment in Arkansas for two years for each year of scholarship support received.

49 Students Receive 2021 Dollars for Scholars Grants

LITTLE ROCK, ARK. (June 24, 2021) – The Methodist Foundation for Arkansas is proud to make $49,000 in scholarship contributions to 49 students receiving 2021 Dollars for Scholars awards to begin or continue their education at United Methodist colleges, universities, and seminaries.

The Allen Asbury & Roberta Fuller Few Memorial Scholarship - LaToya Shepherd

We are excited to announce the Foundation’s Scholarship Selection Committee has awarded a second year of scholarship assistance to LaToya Shepherd. This scholarship is made possible through the Allen Asbury and Roberta Fuller Few Memorial Scholarship. LaToya will continue her seminary education at St. Paul School of Theology in Leawood, KS.
