Sadie Stratton has been selected as a Methodist Foundation Elder Seminary Scholar for the 2021-2022 school year. Students demonstrating exceptional promise attending one of the 13 accredited United Methodist seminaries may be selected by The Methodist Foundation for Arkansas to receive annual scholarships. Scholarship recipients are required to sign a covenant agreement committing to serve as an elder under appointment in Arkansas for two years for each year of scholarship support received.
We are excited to announce the Foundation’s Scholarship Selection Committee has awarded a second year of scholarship assistance to LaToya Shepherd. This scholarship is made possible through the Allen Asbury and Roberta Fuller Few Memorial Scholarship. LaToya will continue her seminary education at St. Paul School of Theology in Leawood, KS.
The Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation announced its inaugural cohort of the Micah Fellows Program. The new initiative, the Micah Fellows Program, in partnership with the Faith Matters Network and The Methodist Foundation of Arkansas, was created to help Arkansas faith leaders champion economic justice and anti-poverty efforts in their communities.
The Arkansas United Methodist Lawyers Conference has been moved online but will still take place on Thursday, September 22, 2021. More information will be coming next week and we will keep you posted. Attendees can still register for this now online event at the Foundation's website. There is no fee to attend this CLE.
LITTLE ROCK, ARK. (August 19, 2021)- The Methodist Foundation for Arkansas is excited to announce a $200,000 planned gift to establish The Hope Scholarship to benefit low-income undergraduate students in Arkansas. This gift, along with The Methodist Foundation for Arkansas’ commitment of an additional $100,000 a year for the next four years, brings the total scholarship award to $600,000.
